World Aids day is celebrated on 1 December 2021 first conceived in August 1987 by James W. Bunn and Thomas Netter, two public information officers for the Global Programme on AIDS at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland . This day is included in one of the global 11 Public health campaigns marked by WHO ( World Health Organization ) . Aids has killed and affected the lives of millions of people across the global making it the most important Public Health Issue .
The acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a life-threatening condition caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) . This virus uses the mechanism of human body or adapts itself into the mechanism of the living organism in which it is living , so that it becomes unreconized by the immune system . The HIV virus attacks the immune system of the patient and reduces its resistance to other diseases .
But now world is much aware about this disease and its danger has reduced very much due to the efforts of International Organizations and Individuals .
History
In 1987 W. Bunn and Thomas Netter took their idea to Dr. Jonathan Mann, Director of the Global Programme on AIDS . He liked their concept and approved their idea . Bunn, a previous transmission writer from San Francisco, had suggested the date of 1 December that accepting it would expand inclusion of World AIDS Day by western news media, adequately long after the US decisions however before the Christmas holidays.
